Last night was the last day for Karston "Skinny" Tannis' work to be displayed at Saltspace Art Gallery on 27th street and Broadway. Unfortunately in life, sometimes there is no happy ending. Davey Roman was mowed down by a sedan last night in Brooklyn, NY, right after leaving the gallery. Thank god he was with two friends at the time this tragedy occurred. They were on there way to a local bar. Apparently, as they exited the livery cab, Davey stepped out onto the street, since he was behind the driver seat of Shane's car. Olu saw a swerving sedan approaching them from some odd yards away. Before they even had time to react, the driver of the sedan raced toward their direction driving erratically, missing Olu and Muff, but striking Davey, flinging him in the air and tossing him like a rag doll a few yards away. To top it off, the driver didn't stop!! Obviously he was very intoxicated and either did not notice he hit a person, or just has a disregard for human life to not bother stopping his vehicle to see what he hit. The driver probably has priors, warrants or he is a parolee, who knows. Whatever the case maybe, you don't to that, you man up and await the repercussions. Fortunately, bystanders that witnessed the hit and run came to Davey's aid while others chased the car down to jot down the license plate. Davey had angels by his side. He was rushed to the emergency room at a near by hospital and treat for possible head trauma from the gash on his forehead and a dislocated shoulder. I spoke to him right before I posted this, he said he has no recollection of the accident, just remembers waking up at the hospital. He's out resting now, safe and sound in at his pad on meds. "Damn, I'm just tight I can't ride." says T-shirt. Davey will be sending pics of the gash on his dome soon. stay tuned
