  THIS EVENT IS SCHEDULED FOR MAY 15th. In order to bring back a championship trophy to New York from the upcoming Evolution tournament, Radio Star has agreed to include a tournament setup for our next few parties We’ve also improvised a new kind of tournament that will hopefully take off. In the meantime, EMP is having a battlefield Arcadia tournament this Sunday. The event is displayed on our wall, so do take a look and show some support by attending. The Reality Check tournament is a winner-stays tournament where the champion is chosen as the person with the most CONSECUTIVE wins within a given period of time.
The goal here is to build mental and physical stamina, flexibility and adaptability. Even though this setup will resemble an atmosphere in a typical arcade, staying on as the winner is the goal that most people abide by but for the most part. However there’s no incentive to keep winning since there are no rewards besides bragging rights for having “that” many wins in a row. Hence, Game Over Channel in collaboration with Radio Star plan to recreate that arcade atmosphere but with an incentive; the person with the most consecutive wins, is awarded a cash prize. Also, there are many other tournaments that use the bracket system so we thought it would be a great to have something a little bit different from the norm. So we’re starting off on May 15th with a Marvel vs Capcom 3 tourneyregulated within the aforementioned parameters. The tourney will take place in room 3, (The Big room). In order to recreate a vibrant scene, we’ll need your help to invite your followers to the venue. Regardless of whether they’re gamers or not, we can’t have real tourney atmosphere because without spectators the energy won’t be the same. We’re trying to create pressure situations to facilitate growth of resilience which is a key attribute that’s necessary for winning championships. So if you plan on shinning and shinning to the fullest, bring your FRIENDS as well.

TOURNAMENT SETUP: Mortal Mombat 9 (Xbox 360) Bring your own Stick/controller No venue Fee No Entry Fee 21 and up: Food or Drink Purchase from the Bar ($5 -$7) Warm-up: 4pm -6pm Start Time: 7pm -10pm (Person with most consecutive wins within a 3 hour period)Clause: Most consecutive wins (Win Streak). Minimum of 10 entrants (Bring people). $50 Cash Prize up for grabs. FORECAST: If everything goes well as in EVERYONE behaves properly, we’ll be alternating between MK 9 and MVC 3 for the month of May and start of with Super Street Fighter IV: AE in the middle of June. However, we will leave it up to you to decide with community which two of the many fighting games to run tournaments in for the last two weeks before Evolution.
